Innovation Pathway

Laying the Groundwork

You’re just getting started! Laying the groundwork is all about discovery and trying things out!

  • Foundations (First exposure to the ecosystem): Good foundations are essential. Often scaffold frameworks will require more than simple base plates to safely carry and spread the load just as students require multiple exposures and experiences with entrepreneurship to root themselves in the ecosystem.
  • Standards (Jones Sparks Program): the standards, also called uprights, are the vertical tubes that transfer the entire weight of the structure to the ground where they rest on a square base plate to spread the load. This is where things start to be connected but you have not committed to building anything yet. Low stakes but still helps move the process along and provides the support and structure necessary to progress to the next stage.
