Oct. 29: Center for Entrepreneurship Hosts Former NFL Quarterback Steve Young


The WSU Center for Entrepreneurship will host “Abundance in Business,” a webinar by Steve Young, former NFL quarterback, at 12 – 1 p.m. on October 29.

Participants may register online to watch the webinar in person in the Commons building or watch on their own via YouTube.

Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.

Young’s football career spanned more than 15 years in the NFL, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers, where he received numerous accolades. In addition to his gridiron fame, he is also a licensed attorney, an acclaimed inspirational speaker, a sought-after spokesperson for major companies such as Visa, PowerBar, and Sun Microsystems. He founded and chairs the Forever Young Foundation, which is actively involved in children’s charities worldwide. Currently, he is a partner, chairman, and cofounder of HGGC, a middle-market private equity firm.

Welcome Paul Warner – Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship


Welcome Paul Warner as the new Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.

Paul is an experienced business owner, digital marketer, and consultant, and has been appointed executive director of the Washington State University Center for Entrepreneurship in the Carson College of Business. He officially began director duties Feb. 19.

Warner’s role is new and an expansion of leadership within the Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE). Marie Mayes has served as director since 2013 and grown entrepreneurial opportunities for WSU students. Mayes, a scholarly associate professor in the Carson College’s Department of MISE, will serve as faculty director for the CfE and work in close partnership with Warner to ensure a successful transition.
